Potentiating agents inhibit the development of multidrugresistance, reduce drug-resistance in drug-resistant tumors, orsensitize tumors to antineoplastic drugs, thereby potentiating theeffect of antineoplastic agents. The potentiating agents areaminoanthraquinones, preferably 1,4-bis(N-substituted) aminoanthraquinones, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
