This study uses data from the 2011-2012 schools and staffing survey (sass:12) to describe the current supply and teaching conditions of high school teachers of CTE, including their background, education and training, teaching experiences, professional development, working conditions, compensation, and perceptions. Where appropriate, data for CTE teachers will be contrasted against the background, training, and experiences of academic and other subject teachers to elucidate similarities and differences between CTE teachers and other high school teachers. The study will also look at changes over time by comparing the 2011-12 data with 2007-08 data for selected measures.
