Employing process technologies that remove contaminants and develop catalysts for converting syngas into fuels

Over the past two decades, our work in advanced gasification and syngas research has led to the development of novel, sorbent-based syngas cleanup technologies. We pinpoint contaminants that impair catalyst performance in pursuit of more efficient transportation fuels, focusing on warm desulfurization, trace contaminant removal, direct sulfur recovery, syngas cleaning and conditioning, syngas conversion and utilization, and biomass gasification.

Our team uses cutting-edge facilities to carry out lab- to pilot-scale R&D and elevate the energy and cost efficiency of gasification systems. As we conduct on-stream field trials at commercially operating gasification plants, we are building the expertise necessary to further our syngas processing R&D program.
