John Ames is the Chief of Party of the Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD) Activity, Cambodia, which supports children to thrive and reach their full developmental potential by promoting Nurturing Care for the most vulnerable newborns and young children, starting before birth. The IECD Activity specifically addresses stunting through a multi-sectoral approach that strengthens nutrition service delivery at health facilities and in communities; supports nutrition-sensitive agriculture and improved livelihoods; improves water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices among caregivers; and promotes responsive caregiving to help children meet critical cognitive, linguistic, socio-emotional, and physical developmental milestones.
Before joining RTI in 2020, Mr. Ames was the Chief of Party of the USAID/PEPFAR Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations Program and the Feed the Future Integrated Improved Livelihoods Program in Rwanda. In addition, he served as the Chief of Party for a reintegration and stabilization project in Sri Lanka.
