Dr. Giorgi Nozadze is a numeracy expert who has expertise in curriculum development, teacher training, textbook development, and teaching. In his various roles at the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth (MOEYS), Dr. Nozadze contributed to the development of the Georgian National Curriculum in Mathematics, the development of state standards in Mathematics, with a focus on statistics and probability, and oversaw textbook development, training in textbooks, and textbook evaluation. Additionally, he taught mathematics in Georgian public and private schools.

Dr. Nozadze has also worked for several donor funded initiatives in Georgia. As the Math Improvement Director on the USAID-funded Georgian Primary Education Project, he managed the development of training modules and delivery of activities around constructivist methods of teaching and learning, formative assessment, differentiated instruction, and remediation.

In his current role as the Teaching and Learning Director on the USAID Basic Education Program, Dr. Nozadze oversees activities related to developing reading and numeracy teaching and learning materials, and teacher trainings for Georgian, Azeri, and Armenian teachers. He implements methodology that enhances learning with understanding and builds the capacity of teachers in mathematics.
