Alex Harding is a full-stack software developer in RTI’s Center for Data Science. At CDS, Mr. Harding works with researchers and data scientists to develop novel software solutions for problems across the spectrum of domains at RTI. Mr. Harding is an advocate for practicable, maintainable software using modern software engineering patterns and best practices.
At RTI, Mr. Harding has been a key contributor to the development of MapMECFS, an in-development web portal for myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. Mr. Harding has also made contributions to Calls For Service Analytics, and has developed software for the aggregation and maintenance of NIBRS data from the FBI’s Crime Data Explorer tool.
Prior to joining the Center for Data Science in 2019, Mr. Harding developed web applications for researchers at UNC Chapel Hill’s Sheps Center for Health Services Research. Mr. Harding has also held a number of technical positions at the educational institutions that he attended. Mr. Harding’s expertise in software development includes Python, Javascript and PHP, as well as relational databases and many other web-relevant technologies for markup and structured data. Additionally, Mr. Harding has expertise in a variety of open-source frameworks for development on the modern web.
