Nurgul Toktogulova is a training expert with more than 21 years of experience working in both the private and public sectors in the Kyrgyz Republic. She serves as the Teaching and Learning Director of the Okuu Keremet! (Learning is Awesome!) project funded by USAID and implemented by RTI.

Ms. Toktogulova is responsible for technical oversight of the teaching and learning materials (T&L) as well as implementation of the project’s training activities. She manages seven regional coordinators and their associated T&L materials teams, oversees pre-service and in-service teacher education components, and coordinates with the Ministry of Education and Sports and other stakeholders in the areas of training and learning outcomes.

She was previously a university lecturer, teacher trainer, and teacher coach. Since 2011, she has been focused on providing technical support to and building the capacity of the Ministry of Education and Sports to continuously improve education programs, with an emphasis on curriculum, instructional materials, and teacher training. She also served as the Deputy Chief of Party on the USAID Quality Learning Project (2011–2012) and as Deputy Team Leader for Teachers College, Columbia University, on the Strengthening Education System Sector Development Program (SESSDP), funded by the Asian Development Bank.

Ms. Toktogulova is fluent in Russian and Kyrgyz and has working proficiency in English.
