Cynthia Bland is a research statistician with more than 15 years of experience working on large-scale data collection efforts. Ms. Bland is skilled in sample design and selection, complex weighting, statistical programming, power analysis, data analysis, and reporting. She is certified in project management and leads multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality outcomes.
Ms. Bland has country experience in Nigeria and Ghana and maintains frequent contact with clients and vendors. She is adept at explaining complex statistical concepts to lay audiences. Ms. Bland’s research interests include highway safety, travel surveys, and Medicare satisfaction. Some of her recent research topics in new areas include drones and water quality testing.
Ms. Bland serves as the membership chair for the Caucus of Women in Statistics, is an active member of the Transportation Research Board committee on Travel Surveys, and is a lecturer in statistics for the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She enjoys teaching SUDAAN classes on complex modeling.
