Christopher Cummiskey is a senior statistician, research design expert, and evaluation specialist in the International Education division of RTI International’s International Development Group. In this role he works with ministries, implementors, and clients to develop research questions, research and sample methodologies, and data collection protocols. Currently Mr. Cummiskey works with Uganda Literacy Achievement and Retention Activity’s (LARA) Journey’s Impact Evaluation project, which is a longitudinal impact evaluation study of grade 2 students’ reading ability. He also serves as the lead statistician for the Uzbekistan National Literacy Survey, a cross-sectional observation study of grade 2 and grade 4 student reading ability.
Mr. Cummiskey has over 12 years of survey design experience and leads a team of statistical and evaluation experts at RTI. He established the standard statistical processing for all Early Grade Reading Assessments (EGRAs), Early Grade Math Assessments (EGMAs), and Snapshot of School Management Effectiveness (SSME) studies conducted by RTI. He is the co-chair of the Basic Education Coalition Monitoring and Evaluation and ha s been published in several journals, including Statistics in Medicine. He is fluent in English and Portuguese.
