RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Paul Weisenfeld, Executive Vice President for International Development at RTI International, has been appointed to the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation’s (DFC) inaugural Development Advisory Council. Members of the Council will advise DFC on strengthening its impact on development in low- and middle-income countries around the world.
“I am honored to join the new Development Advisory Council and support DFC’s vital mission of financing solutions for the biggest challenges facing developing countries,” Weisenfeld said. “I look forward to working with distinguished colleagues to strengthen DFC’s impact.”
DFC partners with the private sector to finance solutions to the most critical challenges facing the developing world. Its Development Advisory Council was established by the Better Utilization of Investments Leading to Development (BUILD) Act of 2018, which created DFC.
Before joining RTI in 2013, Weisenfeld served as a foreign service officer for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), achieving the highest rank of career minister in the Senior Foreign Service. He directed the Bureau for Food Security at USAID and served in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
At RTI, Weisenfeld leads the international development practice, which designs and implements programs across a wide range of sectors to address complex problems and improve lives in lower- and middle-income countries and communities.
