Abdel Nasser Direny has over a decade of technical expertise in neglected tropical disease (NTD) interventions, with a specialty in NTD program design, implementation and management. In the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Dr. Direny helped build a network of over 30,000 community volunteers in support of a Transmission Assessment Survey (TAS) across several implementation units.
In his capacity with ENVISION, Dr. Direny serves as the soil-transmitted helminths focal point and provides technical guidance and specialty expertise to ongoing NTD programs in Mali, and Haiti, and he has also served as a TAS and program manager trainer in Nepal, Haiti and Africa. Dr. Direny is well-versed in meeting USG program and financial requirements, and has written numerous publications on mass drug administration success and community lymphatic filariasis elimination.
