Sengthong Phothisane

Sengthong Phothisane has over thirty years of capacity development and governance experience in Laos. He joined RTI in 2018 and has worked for several international development organizations, including Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation Agency, The World Bank, SNV (Netherlands Development Organization), NIRAS Development Consulting, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Capital Development Fund, and the Asian Development Bank.

Mr. Phothisane currently serves as Chief of Party for the USAID Local Solutions Support activity, which is helping improve organizational and leadership capacity of local university partners for determining development priorities and delivering effective localized development responses. He is responsible for the overall implementation and management of the project so that activities and deliverables are executed at the highest levels of quality.

Mr. Phothisane is skilled in organizational capacity development, strategic management and resource mobilization, governance, leadership competency development, conflict sensitivity program management, human resource development and management, networking, grants management and administration, higher education development, and youth engagement.
