NC-COMP brings together government, academic, and industry partners to accelerate the development and integration of solutions that enhance Warfighter health and performance.

Today, NC-COMP is actively executing large-scale Department of War (DoW) programs including Warfighter Brain Health (WBH) Integration and Technology Integration/ Optimizing the Human Weapon System (OHWS), moving beyond research to deliver fielded capabilities with measurable operational impact.

NC-COMP serves as a connective integrator, aligning stakeholders and accelerating delivery of solutions across the full lifecycle:

  • Research and prototype development
  • Test and evaluation in operational environments
  • Real world data integration and advanced analytics
  • Transition of capabilities into fielded use

NC-COMP enables the rapid translation of innovation into operationally relevant tools and systems used by Service members in real-world environments.

Warfighter Brain Health (WBH) Integration

The Warfighter Brain Health Integration program advances innovative tools and technologies to improve detection, prevention, and management of brain injury, enhancing cognitive readiness and delivering capabilities that support faster decision-making and improved long-term outcomes.

How We Address Brain Health for Military Readiness

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) assessment and prevention tools for operational environments
  • Prototype evaluation and field testing of emerging technologies
  • Blast exposure monitoring and mitigation, including predictive analytics
  • Elite force pilot initiatives to assess cognitive and neurological performance in high-demand units
  • Analysis of operational and clinical data to evaluate outcomes and inform Warfighter Brain Health programs.

The Impact: Warfighter Brain Health integrates cutting-edge technologies and clinical expertise to deliver capabilities that improve early detection, informed decision-making, and long-term readiness outcomes for Service members.

Technology Integration & Optimizing the Human Weapon System (OHWS)

OHWS integrates wearable technologies, blast exposure monitoring, and advanced analytics to deliver real-time insight into Warfighter readiness, thus enabling leaders to optimize performance, mitigate risk, and enhance mission effectiveness through data-driven human performance management.

How We Use Data to Optimize Performance

  • Integration of wearable technologies for physiological and cognitive monitoring
  • Deployment of blast gauge sensors to operational units to capture real-world exposure data
  • Development of synthetic data to mirror real work datasets to create metrics and analyses
  • Real-time tracking of performance indicators to inform readiness decisions
  • Unit-level dashboards and analytics for leaders
  • Scalable system architecture supporting brigade- and enterprise-level adoption

The Real-World Uses of Monitoring Technologies

  • Boots-on-the-ground deployment of technologies and technical assistance to operational units at Fort Bragg and other locations
  • Integration with Army human performance and medical systems
  • Data standardization and interoperability across platforms

The Impact: Optimizing the Human Weapon System enables leadership, Holistic Health & Fitness (H2F) teams, medical personnel, and Service members to optimize performance, reduce risk, and improve mission readiness through actionable data insights, including integrated analysis of blast exposure and broader human performance metrics.
