RTI International has been working in Africa for more than 40 years, providing technical assistance, institutional strengthening, program support, and research. Hallmarks of our work include a focus on communities and emphasize transparency, public participation, and capacity building for sustainability. Our programs encourage local ownership and public-private commitment to local development and service delivery. We engage national and local governments, civil society, and the public and private sectors to improve the policy environment and increase citizen participation in decision-making processes.
More than 90% of our staff members in Africa are hired locally and we maintain a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya, to support projects across the region.
Together with our local partners, we deliver science-based solutions and advisory and technical services to help countries across sub-Saharan Africa achieve national, regional, and local goals—in health, education, governance and public policy, economic growth, and environmental management.
