Lilly Yu is a research scientist at RTI where she specializes in research on gender-based violence. Dr. Yu has experience leading team-based, large-scale qualitative data collection and analysis efforts; leading multi-site program evaluations; designing mixed methods studies to explain program and policy outcomes; engaging people with lived experience in the design and implementation of research studies; and disseminating research to policy, practitioner, academic, and community audiences.

Dr. Yu is the task lead on the process evaluation of the Human Trafficking Youth Prevention Education (HTYPE) Demonstration Grant Program, a study of the Human Trafficking Policy and Research Analysis Project. She is also the task lead of the process evaluation of the Trafficking Victims Assistance Program (TVAP) and the Aspire program, a study of the Building Evidence for Trafficking Interventions and Response Project (BETIR).

Before joining RTI in 2022, Dr. Yu was a research analyst in the Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center.
