Glossary Term

Recidivism

Recidivism refers to the tendency of individuals who have been involved in the justice system to relapse into criminal behavior, often measured by rearrest, reconviction, or reincarceration. Reducing recidivism is a major goal of criminal justice and rehabilitation programs. RTI studies recidivism to identify factors that influence reoffending and to evaluate interventions that support stability and successful reentry.
