Glossary Term

Causal Inference

Causal inference refers to the set of research methods used to determine whether an intervention or factor actually caused a specific outcome. Methods include randomized experiments, matched comparison groups, difference-in-differences models, and instrumental variable techniques. RTI uses causal inference to evaluate program effectiveness and to help decision-makers understand the true impact of interventions.
