Vijay Gupta is a member of our decarbonization team. A chemical engineer, he currently serves as the modeling lead for development and scale-up of RTI's non-aqueous solvent (NAS) for post-combustion CO2 capture. He has developed the thermodynamic and transport model for CO2 capture process using Aspen Plus, to aid in development and scale-up of the NAS technology.
Dr. Gupta previously served as a member of RTI’s Warm-gas Desulfurization Process (WDP) commercialization team. In this capacity, he developed process models to evaluate different strategies for integrating the WDP technology with commercial pre-combustion CO2 capture technologies and external client processes for syngas purification for chemicals and power. Dr. Gupta has also worked on developing novel oil well cementing formulations and technology for a large commercial client in the energy services sector, where he managed a strong research team consisting of RTI researchers, staff from academic research laboratories, and external consultants.
Before joining RTI in 2007, Dr. Gupta worked for W.R. Grace & Co., developing cement additives and concrete admixtures for the construction industry. He is a member of the American Chemical Society.
