Dana DiBenedetti, PhD, Executive Director of Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment at RTI-HS, is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 30 years of experience in administering and developing patient-reported assessments of adults and children in numerous therapeutic areas. She has extensive experience in the development and validation of patient- and caregiver-completed instruments; conducting qualitative research (interviews, focus groups) with patients and caregivers, including in numerous CNS areas; and providing support to clients related to negotiations with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She has also designed numerous patient interview studies within the context of clinical trial settings (e.g., exit interviews) and presented to the FDA on this methodology.

Dr. DiBenedetti’s broad clinical and assessment experience includes expertise in adult and pediatric psychiatry and neurology (e.g., schizophrenia, depression, narcolepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Tourette’s syndrome), hemophilia, women’s health (e.g., endometriosis, menopause, vaginal atrophy), dermatology, endocrinology (diabetes, obesity), and sexual medicine (e.g., erectile dysfunction, female sexual dysfunction, arousal disorders, Peyronie’s disease). She also has experience in rare diseases, virology (hepatitis C), and substance abuse. 

Dr. DiBenedetti has authored numerous manuscripts and scientific presentations on qualitative (exit) interviews in clinical trial settings, instrument development, quality of life, treatment satisfaction, and other outcomes in various patient populations, and she has served as a reviewer for several journals, including Value in Health, Clinical Therapeutics, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Annals of Behavioral Medicine, International Journal of Behavioral Medicine, Addictive Behaviors, and Medical Care.
