Amy Volckens is a strategic account executive for RTI where she develops client-centric account strategies to map customer priorities to RTI’s research capabilities. She manages customer relationships to center client needs and feedback, and she facilitates multidisciplinary collaborations to provide full-service climate change solutions.

Currently, Ms. Volckens develops and leads client account management and business expansion strategy in collaboration with research staff for federal customers, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), Department of Energy (DOE), and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). She leverages a deep knowledge of climate change research to understand where RTI’s scientific, research, and policy capabilities can add value and improve the human condition.

Before rejoining RTI in 2022, Ms. Volckens was an engineering director and leadership team member for the Brendle Group, where she provided climate and sustainability solutions to local government, state government, and energy and water utility clients. She also served as a senior engineer and business development lead at Riverside Technology, inc, where she provided climate adaption solutions in the water sector to state and federal clients such as NOAA, the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). From 2001 to 2006, Ms. Volckens served as an engineer for RTI providing data management and analysis, environmental modeling and regulatory support to federal clients, including the USEPA and National Park Service (NPS).

In addition to her work, Ms. Volckens is a certified professional engineer and a member of the American Water Works Association.
