The certification and appraisal demonstrate that RTI’s technology solutions adhere to the highest international quality standards and industry-recognized best practices

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, today announced that its Technology Practice Area has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification and CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Development appraisal, further solidifying the institute’s commitment to excellence and quality management.

"The certification and appraisal reflect our unwavering dedication to excellence in quality management, software development and project management,” said David White, senior vice president of technology at RTI. “Our clients and partners can have full confidence in our capabilities knowing that we adhere to the highest international quality standards and industry-recognized best practices.”

ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized standard for quality management systems, emphasizing a process-driven approach to meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements consistently. The certification reflects RTI's dedication to delivering high-quality technology solutions while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement.

RTI Technology Practice Area received CMMI Maturity Level 3 for Development status, which it has maintained since 2021, following a rigorous appraisal conducted in January 2024. The appraisal highlights RTI’s commitment to delivering high-quality technology solutions and services for its clients and partners. An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates processes are well characterized and understood and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.

RTI’s Technology Practice Area plays a vital role in advancing the institute’s mission by providing clients with software and services for the entire data ecosystem, including issues of access, storage, management, integration, security, and governance.
