RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Air & Radiation (OAR) has awarded RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) delivering Environmental, Analytical, Research, Technical, and Hybrid (EARTH) Support Services to advance EPA’s mission in protecting human health and the environment. The contract, with a total ceiling of $5.7 billion, will be carried out until 2027.

RTI will provide an OAR-wide contract vehicle for professional services needed to develop national programs, policies and regulations for controlling air pollution and radiation exposure. These professional services include:

  1. Data analysis and modeling
  2. Environmental science-related testing and quality assurance
  3. Research and documentation
  4. Policy and regulation support
  5. Operations and communication

A key focus will be on pollution prevention and energy efficiency, indoor and outdoor air quality, industrial air pollution, pollution from vehicles and engines, randon, acid rain, stratospheric ozone depletion, climate change, and radiation protection.

“RTI has been tackling critical challenges in the environment sector for years. With the development of our Center for Climate Solutions, experts from our team bring a holistic approach comprising research, technology, and implementation,” said Rebecca Nicholson, Vice President for RTI’s Environmental, Engineering, and Economics division. “This uniquely positions us to deliver actionable solutions across a variety of services under the EARTH contract and we are excited for the opportunity to assist EPA in upholding their mission to protect the public from air pollution and radiation exposure.”
