Rebecca Nicholson oversees a multidisciplinary staff of more than 100 scientists, engineers, and economists to develop and carry out environmental analysis and engineering programs for a wide variety of clients across the globe. She has nearly 30 years of experience in the environmental field, managing projects for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other government and commercial clients. She specializes in the development and implementation of air quality regulations. Ms. Nicholson is responsible for the strategic direction of the EEE Division, the financial performance and quality of the work performed within the Division, the development of new programs and initiatives, and effective collaborations with university and business partners.

Ms. Nicholson’s  air quality management work experience has included identifying industrial facilities with superior environmental performance; developing facility-level surveys to obtain information on process operations, emissions, and the performance and costs of air emission control systems; estimating nationwide costs, emission reductions, and environmental impacts associated with implementation of new air rulemakings; and developing training manuals and conducting air quality management workshops. She also led RTI’s corporate sustainability efforts and the production of RTI’s first Sustainability report and led the planning and startup of RTI’s regional office in Beijing, China.
