RTI awarded MDA SHIELD IDIQ to advance defense research and technology

The contract allows RTI to support DoW’s priorities through its multidisciplinary capabilities

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International, an independent scientific research institute, has been selected as an awardee of the Missile Defense Agency’s Systems, Hardware, Integration, and Engineering for Lightweight Defense (SHIELD) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, issued by the Department of War (DoW).

The SHIELD IDIQ is designed to accelerate procurement and foster innovation across critical defense domains. As an awardee, RTI will be able to support DoW priorities through science and technology, research and development, test and evaluation, and technical support.

This award reflects our commitment to advancing technologies that support national security needs,” said Ivy Estabrooke, Ph.D., a strategic account executive at RTI. “We are focused on rapid procurement and innovation to align with SHIELD’s approach.”

For more than 40 years, RTI has combined rigorous scientific methods with practical applications to optimize military performance. RTI is currently a partner to the DoW in protecting Warfighters through chem-bio gear testing and brain health efforts.
