In Fond Memory of Aryc W. Mosher

RTI International expresses our deepest condolences on the passing of Aryc W. Mosher, senior trachoma technical advisor at the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Our team worked with Aryc almost daily to support trachoma-endemic countries in their pursuit to achieve elimination of trachoma as a public health problem. Aryc was a trusted advisor, problem-solver, and steadfast supporter of country leadership, never wavering in his commitment to a healthier future free from neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).

“I’ve never met a person with such boundless yet focused energy. Aryc’s infectious drive was felt the moment he arrived in a country. The first question he always wanted to know was how he could help, how he could do more, how he could amplify the voice of others,” said Scott McPherson, senior program manager.

Many RTI staff members have been honored to collaborate closely with Aryc during his many years working in global health, including his work in trachoma, onchocerciasis, malaria, and Guinea Worm. Aryc was a dynamic leader and a dear friend. He brought tremendous creativity, humor, and passion to all he did. We will miss him dearly.

“The world is undoubtedly a better, healthier place thanks to Aryc’s years of dedication to NTDs and I’m personally grateful for how he enhanced my professional growth and career,” said Lisa Rotondo, senior director for malaria and NTDs.

“Aryc was extremely passionate about trachoma elimination and was a champion of addressing trachoma endgame challenges. The NTD community owes a lot to his brilliance and creativity.  At a personal level, I have lost a true friend and a man of all seasons who brought out the best in all of us.  I feel, indeed, honored to have worked so closely and learn from a great NTD warrior whose brilliance, humor, laughter and determination will be greatly missed.  Rest in peace my good friend,” said Jeremiah Ngondi, senior trachoma advisor.

RTI joins many in the global health and NTD community in mourning Aryc’s loss and we send our deepest sympathies to his family. May we remember Aryc’s life and legacy and celebrate all his contributions to improving health worldwide and how he enriched so many lives.
