Abstract

Our climate reality demands we use available resources more effectively. We can do this by breaking down silos between commitments, sectors and key actors from climate, biodiversity, and environmental treaties. Join this session to hear about the impact of this approach when implemented for Belize. We designed a country-wide program to climate resilience that identified priority activities named in the NDC and other treaties that spanned the water-food-energy nexus and integrated climate justice considerations. By applying this programmatic approach, we could prioritize projects for design and funding that integrate decarbonization, adaptation and resilience goals. Other countries will discuss how they can replicate this model to finance and implement comprehensive, cross-sectoral programs.
