RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC— RTI International is providing $153,500 in corporate contributions to support 62 charitable organizations and efforts around the world through its Community Partnerships Program.
The Community Partnerships Program was created in 2004 as a way for RTI to contribute to communities served by its regional offices, as part of RTI’s mission to improve the human condition. The program was recognized by PR Daily as a 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility Awards winner for stakeholder-employee engagement.
RTI staff members submitted 74 nominations for this year's program. RTI staff members are required to volunteer a minimum of 12 hours per year with the organization to nominate it.
This year the program continued to place an emphasis on funding organizations that provide direct services in the areas of domestic violence and basic needs (e.g., food and housing), where there continues to be a high demand for services. Other organizations funded serve children and people with disabilities and provide education and health programs. All contributions have been directed to support populations in need specifically.
The selected organizations serve various locations where RTI has corporate offices, including Atlanta, Berkeley, Research Triangle Park, San Francisco, Waltham, Mass., and the Washington, D.C., area, as well as New Delhi, India, Jakarta, Indonesia), Nairobi, Kenya, and San Salvador, El Salvador.
