RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — RTI International has been selected as one of North Carolina's 2014 Family-Friendly 50 companies by Carolina Parent magazine for the sixth consecutive year.
Fifty employers were recognized for offering family-friendly workplace options and benefits that help employees balance work and family responsibilities.
RTI was recognized for offering benefits such as subsidized child care, lactation facilities, flexible work schedules and leave of absence programs to care for children or parents in need.
"At RTI, we value the well-being of our employees and their families," said Martha Roberts, senior vice president of Human Resources at RTI. "Providing working parents with the resources needed to balance work-life schedules allows them to be successful at work and home."
Other RTI employee benefits include adoption expense reimbursement and a wellness program that includes health fair events, an on-site fitness center and flu vaccinations for employees and their families. RTI also offers tuition reimbursement for employees and scholarship opportunities for dependents.
RTI and the other winners will be recognized in the September issue of Carolina Parent, Charlotte Parent and Piedmont Parent.
The N.C. Family-Friendly companies of 2014 were selected by Morris Media Network, and its parenting publications Carolina Parent, Charlotte Parent and Piedmont Parent, in partnership with the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. Companies were chosen based on nominations, employee testimonials and information provided by the companies about available health benefits, work scheduling options, child and elder care, family support, family leave and other family-friendly benefits.
