RTI International receives ‘CEO Cancer Gold Standard’ accreditation for eighth consecutive year

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC—RTI International has been re-accredited as a CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ employer for the eighth consecutive year. The research institute continues to meet evidence-based standards that allow for early cancer detection, prevention, and treatment.

The workplace wellness accreditation program recognized RTI for its commitment to fostering employee health and wellness through its corporate culture and health benefits. As the first major initiative of the CEO Roundtable on Cancer, this program requires employers to maintain a tobacco-free workplace while supporting physical activity and nutrition, ensure medical coverage for cancer screenings, and provide employees with the information they need for early cancer detection, prevention and treatment.

“We are proud to create a work environment for our staff that allows for cancer prevention and long-term health,” said Lisa May, executive vice president of human resources at RTI. “We prioritize the wellbeing of our employees and are honored by the continued recognition of these important efforts.”

The CEO Roundtable on Cancer was founded by former President George H. W. Bush to encourage organizations to make cancer prevention a priority.  The five pillars required to meet the Gold Standard accreditation are prevention, screening, cancer clinical trials, quality treatment and survivorship, and health and health promotion.
