Karen Davis Elected President of N.C. Healthcare Information & Communications Alliance

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Karen Davis, vice president of RTI International's Research Computing Division, has been elected president of the North Carolina Healthcare Information & Communications Alliance, Inc. (NCHICA).

NCHICA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to aid members in accelerating the transformation of the U.S. health care system through the effective use of information technology, informatics and analytics. The consortium includes more than 230 organizations representing many sectors of the health care industry.

Davis has served as RTI's representative to the NCHICA Board of Directors since 2007 and has previously held the roles of vice president and treasurer of the organization.

Davis joined RTI in 1999 and was named vice president of the Research Computing Division in 2005. She and her team have been responsible for significant growth in the group's project portfolio and revenue. She has extensive business experience across multiple disciplines and industries, including technology, systems development and management.

Davis earned bachelor's degrees in English and mathematics from Cedar Crest College and a master's degree in management with a concentration in information systems from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
