“RTI has a proven past, a proud present, and a bright future achieving significant impact in the global health sector,” said Paul Weisenfeld, Executive Vice President of International Development at RTI. “Dr. AlMossawi is the ideal person to lead RTI’s global health portfolio as we strive to tackle complex health challenges in low- and middle-income countries and achieve our mission to improve the human condition.”
RTI’s global health team focuses on strengthening health systems; controlling and eliminating neglected tropical diseases; improving reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health; addressing the global burden of noncommunicable diseases; and combatting malaria, HIV, and other infectious diseases.
“I am delighted to lead a team with unparalleled talents and such an incredible record of impact, depth of expertise, and passion for global health,” Dr. AlMossawi said. “This is a thrilling opportunity—one through which I will continue to channel my own passion for service, especially to the people in the communities where we work. With that spirit, I am reminded of all of our shared purpose of forging more equitable access to quality health care in communities around the world for a safer and more prosperous future for all.”
