Crisis Intervention Team

A crisis intervention team is a specialized group of law enforcement officers, mental health professionals, or first responders who are trained to safely manage situations involving individuals in mental health crisis. The model promotes de-escalation, diversion from the justice system, and rapid connection to appropriate care. RTI evaluates crisis intervention team programs and provides guidance for effective implementation.
