Valerie Wallen serves as the vice president for Culture and Experience at RTI, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the organizational culture to align with the institute’s strategic objectives. Her responsibilities include forging strategic partnerships across executive and senior leadership levels, as well as within business units, to spearhead change management initiatives that promote organization effectiveness. Ms. Wallen’s approach is collaborative and comprehensive, focusing on cultivating an inclusive RTI culture that supports its expanding global workforce. Her leadership extends to developing a cohesive and enriching employee experience underpinned by RTI’s core commitments to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging. Leveraging her extensive background in organizational development, she actively leads and supports numerous facets of RTI’s People Strategy. Currently, Ms. Wallen is at the forefront of digital upskilling efforts institute wide and among different business units, providing a strategic framework for continuous development that aims to elevate employee performance and competency. Her initiatives also include the implementing of programs designed to enhance organizational diversity, further reinforcing RTI’s mission, values, and culture.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Wallen excelled as the vice president global HR business partner at RTI and as the director of talent & organizational effectiveness at the University of Richmond. In addition to her leadership positions, she contributes her expertise as an independent organizational consultant, offering valuable insights and strategies to a wide range of organizational challenges.
