Tyler Ovington joined RTI’s Innovation Advisors in 2019. He supports clients at federal agencies, private philanthropic foundations, and companies with a focus on innovation initiatives. Mr. Ovington’s experiences include identifying and facilitating partnerships to commercialize new technologies, analyzing market opportunities to inform strategic priorities, and facilitating strategy development. He has facilitated new partnerships between NASA technology transfer offices and the private sector, and he has led facilitated focus groups to help define user needs for new products and services. He has also partnered with private philanthropies to explore new opportunity areas for grant-based investments and increase impacts in strategic priority areas (e.g., agricultural climate adaptation, coastal ecosystem conservation and restoration, non-sewered sanitation).

Before joining RTI, Mr. Ovington led product development efforts for medical device companies. He defined and developed new products for neonatal intensive care units, rapid blood infusion, and spine surgery.
