Stacy Costello is an educational consultant with national experience in innovative program design and alternative certification pathways for teachers, especially in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines. Ms. Costello has substantial experience as a practitioner, having served over ten years as a secondary science teacher with an emphasis in interdisciplinary curricula and specialty subject areas. 

During her tenure in the classroom, Ms. Costello developed several curricula, including a grade 9-12 curriculum for NASA Langley called Space Medicine: Human Adaptation in a Space Environment. Prior to joining RTI, she focused on district and school turnaround efforts for the state department of North Carolina, and most recently her emphasis has been on business development, client strategy and growth strategy.

Ms. Costello also directed the North Carolina STEM Teacher Education Program (NC STEP), an innovative alternative teacher-certification program. She currently serves as an accreditation reviewer for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, and was a former state representative for the National Association for Alternative Certification.
