Connect

Shannon Blakey is a Research Clinical Psychologist at RTI whose research focuses on the prevention and treatment of mental health problems, especially among military populations. In her work, she also examines co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and how they relate to self-and other-directed violence. She is an expert in psychosocial models of posttraumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders, and depression in civilian and military populations.

Dr. Blakey’s expertise includes providing evidence-based assessments, developing treatments for behavioral health concerns, and designing and implementing clinical trials. Before joining RTI, Dr. Blakey was a clinical psychology researcher within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

She is a licensed clinical psychologist in North Carolina and certified by the North Carolina Board of Psychology as a Health Services Provider, Psychologist.
