Sara Maloney Norcross is a research chemist at RTI, where she serves as a principal investigator and co-investigator for multiple programs related to inhaled drug formulation and delivery. Many of these programs focus on the preparation of inhaled therapeutics to treat pulmonary infections, including those caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, nontuberculous mycobacteria, and pan-drug resistant bacteria. Dr. Maloney Norcross is currently working to formulate a novel intranasal vaccine for tuberculosis. 

Prior to joining RTI in 2022, Dr. Maloney Norcross completed her Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she developed nitric oxide-releasing biopolymers and formulations to treat chronic wound infections and prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections.
