Rebecca C. McGavin is a health data scientist and expert in research design, data analysis, data warehouse development and implementation, SME interviews, and user experience testing. Ms. McGavin is skilled in quantitative and qualitative analyses of large-scale data, human centered design methodology, and government-funded health policy and health services evaluations.

She joined RTI in 2020 and currently works on several projects, including the NC-COMP OHWS Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM) Meta-Analysis. Through the AMA project, NC-COMP is conducting a comprehensive interrogation of two decades of Automated Neuropsychological Assessment Metrics (ANAM) data to explore long-term trends in cognitive performance across the force. This effort aims to identify correlations between historical test results, operational factors, and potential blast exposure. Findings will support the development of predictive models linking neurocognitive outcomes to exposure patterns and help guide future monitoring and intervention strategies. By leveraging one of the largest longitudinal cognitive datasets in the military, the AMA project strengthens the evidence base for protecting brain health and informing readiness policy. Other projects include the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) primary care payment models, which are focused on innovative payment models for primary care, and the Behavioral HIT Landscape Analysis: Health Information Technology Adoption and Utilization in Behavioral Health Settings for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE).

Ms. McGavin holds professional memberships with the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). Additionally, she is skilled in R, Tableau, and ArcGIS.
