Patrick Brown is a Program Director and full stack web developer within RTI’s Center for Education Services. Patrick leads several projects, including data dissemination websites that aid in publicizing research, web applications that support curriculum delivery to teachers, as well as learning management systems. He manages a team of full stack developers and collaborates closely with a team of designers and usability experts to produce high-quality websites with human-centered user experiences. 

Mr. Brown joined RTI in 2010 from a small creative agency in the San Francisco Bay Area. He works on several projects, including the Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC), the College Scorecard, part of the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) work for the Department of Education, the Migrant Education Program’s RESULTS Interstate Coordination website, also for the Department of Education. He works on several curriculum dissemination products for Educurious, the Democratic Knowledge Project, and NCSU’s InSTEP Statistics and Data Science Professional Learning Platform. He also works on several web products for the American Council on Education, including their Carnegie Classification website and their Race and Ethnicity in Higher Education report microsite

Patrick brings a unique set of skills to the projects he works on. His background in atmospheric science lends knowledge around statistics, math, modeling, and visualizations, including geographic information systems and analysis (GIS). His years of experience in web development provides a wealth of knowledge around user interactions, agile approaches to website development and information design, analysis of analytics and metrics around returns on investment (ROI), and a long history of modernizing legacy systems. He also has significant experience with cloud hosted architecture and NIST 800-53 cybersecurity requirements. His organizational capabilities lend themselves to effective time and budget management, innovation, and collaboration across all practice areas of RTI.
