Leslie Erickson is a Senior Survey Director at RTI, currently leading the Primary Care First Patient Experience of Care Survey. Primary Care First is an alternative payment model run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). It uses a focused set of clinical quality and patient experience measures to assess quality of care delivered at primary care practices. As associate project director, she is responsible for the national implementation of the annual mail and telephone survey of over one million patients. Survey responses are transformed into performance ratings, which are used to calculate practices’ performance-based adjustment payment.

Ms. Erickson is an expert in managing large-scale, multimode surveys. Since joining RTI in 2000, Ms. Erickson has led the data collection for numerous studies, including Comprehensive Primary Care Plus; the Add Health Parent Study; the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Vendor Management Study; the Work, Family and Health Network Study; and the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study-Birth Cohort. She has experience with a variety of modes and forms of data collection, including mail, telephone, web, in-person, and establishment surveys. Ms. Erickson is particularly skilled at mitigating the challenges associated with conducting research to achieve high response rates while collecting high-quality data.
