Laurie Baker is an educational consultant with national experience in the areas of innovative school design and educational leadership. As part of her role within the Education and Workforce Development Center for P-12 Education, she is responsible for strategy analysis and service delivery model development.
Ms. Baker is tasked with developing a long-term strategy for domestic educational services. In this capacity, she evaluates health policy, insurance benefits, and innovative health care delivery models, specifically focusing on the effects on health, expenditures, and utilization.
Ms. Baker has an extensive background as a practitioner, having served as a high school English teacher, middle school assistant principal, high school assistant principal for at-risk students, and early college high school principal. She has led a number of large-scale educational reform projects in Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and she is also a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem—an advocate for abused and neglected children.
