Lauren Mangum

Lauren Mangum is a multimedia design specialist in RTI’s Workforce Development Office. She is an expert in producing virtual and onsite training events along with providing graphic support and media production expertise for projects.  Currently Ms. Mangum works with the Learning Management System Implementation and Administration project, developing improved user experience while maintaining projects needs in Moodle for the Center for Forensic Sciences. In this role, she creates and maintains courses deployed on learning management systems, and 508-compliant multimedia for increased learner accessibility. She produces scalable live online learning events for large audiences including developing cost-effective onsite and virtual event management platforms. She has applied her skills as a video editor, director of photography, graphics artist, audio designer by producing educational videos, social media campaigns, roll call videos, role-play modules, and producing a podcast for projects including the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative Training and Technical Assistance program and the Forensic Technology Center of Excellence. In this role, she also drafts informational flyers, event signage, infographics, large-scale postcard campaigns, and other marketing materials tailored to the criminal justice community. Ms. Mangum is the producer of the Just Science podcast, which is designed to highlight key leaders in forensic science research, practice, and innovation. The podcast has released over 100 episodes and generated over 100,000 listens. 

Prior to joining RTI, Ms. Mangum was an event technology specialist at SAS. In this role, she coordinated and ran the audio/visual setup for conferences and meetings, including managing internal/external SAS events for more than 80 events as a show coordinator and assisting with more than 400 shows as a crew member. As a show coordinator, she booked the webcast team, engineers, and tech crews for event days and obtained content from clients before events.
