Joyce Wang is a health researcher whose work focuses on quantitative analyses of program evaluations, utilizing data from nursing homes and Medicare, including Medicare encounter data. In addition, she has expertise in quality management and processes for researchers.

On the evaluation of the Initiative to Reduce Avoidable Hospitalizations Among Nursing Facility Residents project, Ms. Wang helped conduct quantitative analyses and also led survey development and survey data collection efforts among the nursing home staff, including healthcare providers.

On the evaluation of the Financial Alignment Initiative, Ms. Wang led the analysis of the Nursing Home Minimum Data Set to examine the initiative’s impact on long-term nursing home use, as well as analyzing its impact on Medicare utilization. In addition, she worked on a project for the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation comparing outcomes for dual-eligible beneficiaries in integrated care by analyzing Medicare encounter data.

Before joining RTI in 2015, Ms. Wang conducted research on psychosocial determinants of health, aging, and women veterans’ health.
