Janeen Buck Willison is an expert on prison and jail reentry and a member of the Corrections and Reentry Research Program in the Justice Practice Area. She serves as Associate Project Director for a National Institute of Justice (NIJ)-funded evaluation of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Reentry Programs. Her portfolio includes research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects on reentry, specialized courts, alternatives to incarceration, corrections and community supervision, juvenile justice, and criminal legal system responses to the opioid epidemic.
Before joining RTI in 2022, Ms. Buck Willison was a Senior Fellow in the Justice Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where she conducted mixed methods studies and technical assistance initiatives for private foundations and federal, state, and local governments, in addition to leading the Institutional Review Board.
