Helen Pan, PhD, is a senior bioinformatics scientist and senior manager of the Genomics, Bioinformatics, and Translational Research Center in the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Division. She has more than 26 years in clinical and genomic data analysis and management. Her expertise includes data analysis, curation, harmonization, standardization, and common data elements (CDEs) development and implementation, ontology, and semantic web.
Dr. Pan is actively leading data standardization and harmonization in multiple NIH projects, including the NHBI Collaborating Network of Networks for Evaluating COVID-19 and Therapeutic Strategies (CONNECTS) Administrative Coordinating Center, NHLBI Cure Sickle Cell Initiative (CureSCi) Data Strategy Consortium, NIH Common Fund Nutrition for Precision Health powered by the All of Us Research Program, NIH Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Data Analysis Center (DAC), and NHGRI PhenX (consensus measures for Phenotypes and eXposures) Toolkit. Additionally, she has co-authored more 38 scientific papers.
