Heather Menne is a senior health policy researcher in RTI’s Aging, Disability, and Long-term Care Program. Dr. Menne has over 15 years of Federal and non-profit experience in aging and disability programs and services. Her research career has focused on older people, people with disabilities, and long-term services and supports (LTSS), with an emphasis on people living with dementia, family caregivers, and paid caregivers.
Currently, Dr. Menne supports the National Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Center (NADRC) by providing technical assistance and evaluation support to states and communities delivering programs for people living with dementia and family caregivers. She is also the project director for a contract with the Administration for Community Living (ACL) to conduct research and evaluation on Older Americans Act and other ACL programs that support older adults, people living with disabilities, and their families. She collaborates across RTI on aging-related research proposals and projects, and she leads business development efforts for the program.
Prior to joining RTI, Dr. Menne worked at the Administration for Community Living within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and as a Senior Research Scientist at the Benjamin Rose Institute of Aging. She serves on the editorial boards for Journal of Applied Gerontology and Dementia: The International Journal of Social Research and Practice, and she is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America.
