Fredrica Nash

Fredrica Nash is an expert in educator professional learning. She serves as Co-Director of the Center on Strengthening and Supporting the Educator Workforce (SSEW), providing strategic leadership for initiatives focused on educator workforce development, professional learning, and system-level capacity building. Dr. Nash also leads cross-project efforts to design and deliver technical assistance, strengthen educator pipelines, and improve instructional and leadership practices through evidence-based approaches. She oversees partnerships with state education agencies, districts, and national organizations to align workforce strategies with policy and practice.

Currently, Dr. Nash leads work related to Alternative Learning Programs and Schools (ALPS) in North Carolina, supporting statewide efforts to assess needs, strengthen programming, and improve outcomes for students in alternative settings. This includes coordinating stakeholder engagement, guiding data collection and analysis, and supporting the development of resources and systems to enhance program quality and access.

Dr. Nash joined RTI in 2016, bringing experience as a high school biology teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum writer. She directed coaching services across more than 50 schools, designed teacher leadership and preparation programs, and supported district strategic planning and policy development. A former NC Teaching Fellow, Kenan Fellow, and New Tech Network teacher, Dr. Nash is passionate about the empowerment of educators and school staff to make a difference in the lives of students across all domains of teaching and learning to support students’ academic, social, and emotional success.

Dr. Nash is a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). She holds several certifications related to interpersonal relations, including Critical Friends Group Certified Coach, Nurtured Heart Approach Certified Trainer, Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and Leadership Circle Certified Coach.
