Ben Hale is an Innovation Analyst for RTI Innovation Advisors, a business unit of RTI. He leverages his expertise through scientific communication, scientific research, grant writing, and business development. Currently, Dr. Hale works on a program analysis for the Technical and Business Assistance (TABA) program under the Small Business Education and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) office within the NIH. In this role, he helps biomedical entrepreneurs meet their innovation goals through long-term and short-term strategies. He also works with entrepreneurs through the NIMHD Health Disparity Pre-Application (HDPreApp) Program. As an HDPreApp coach, Ben works with small business proposing innovative solutions to empower health disparity communities. Ben’s non-SEED work includes a technology landscape project that assessed devices used in insect pest control.

Prior to joining RTI in 2023, Dr. Hale served as a Scientific Consultant at Eva Garland Consulting. He was a NIH Postdoctoral fellow at East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute where he studied how changes in mitochondrial bioenergetics facilitate cellular function.
