Dr. Andrea Ptaszek conducts research focusing on quality in post-acute care settings and on beneficiary experience with Medicare-Medicaid integrated care models. She has a strong background in project management and oversight and proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to conduct policy-relevant research.
Since 2015, she has served as the lead on a project called "Development and Maintenance of Symptom Management Measures." The objective of this project is to develop and maintain quality measures that reflect symptom management across post-acute care settings and nursing homes. Dr. Ptaszek provides technical and project management support to develop quality measures for nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities and support the implementation of the Skilled Nursing Home Quality Reporting Program.
Prior to RTI, Dr. Ptaszek was a senior manager at Pacific Consulting Group for over a decade. There Dr. Ptaszek Led multiple studies for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services evaluating the Erickson Advantage Continuing Care Retirement Community Demonstration and the 1800-MEDICARE customer service platform. She also designed and conducted surveys and focus groups for Program Integrity Measurement and Improvement projects. Finally, she managed a portfolio of large-scale surveys and qualitative research for the Internal Revenue Service, the Veterans Administration and the Department of Commerce with the goal of designing improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance, increasing awareness and enhancing the experience with these federal agencies.
