RTI recognized with Cigna’s 2023 Silver Healthy Workforce Designation™

Recipients must demonstrate a strong commitment to improving the health and vitality of their employees

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Cigna Healthcare has selected RTI International, a nonprofit research institute, as a recipient of its 2023 Silver Level Healthy Workforce Designation for demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the health and vitality of its employees through a workplace wellness program.

It is the second year in a row that RTI has been recognized with the Silver level designation and the fifth year RTI has been recognized by Cigna for its workplace wellness program.

“RTI is pleased to receive this designation from Cigna, which speaks to our commitment to employee well-being,” said RTI wellness program manager Noelle Ybarra. “A healthy workplace is a critical part of our culture, and we are grateful to our staff and leadership for their part in building a culture of well-being, together.”

RTI supports employees in managing their minds, bodies and lives, allowing them to sustainably invest their passions in meaningful lives and work. The institute’s wellness program strives to create a healthy culture and work environment with a focus on whole-person health.

“Higher vitality is linked to a more motivated, connected, and productive workforce,” said Kari Knight Stevens, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, The Cigna Group. “Employers that foster vitality will fuel a healthier workplace and drive business and economic growth. That’s why we’re proud to recognize employers for their efforts to prioritize multiple dimensions of wellness, build a culture of health and boost employee engagement.”

The Cigna Healthy Workforce Designation evaluates organizations based on the core components of their wellness program, including leadership and culture, program foundations and execution, policies and accommodations, and additional areas. Organizations recognized with this designation set the standard of excellence for organizational health and vitality.
